This “revisiting the old battlefield” journey takes you to the heroic land of Quang Tri – once the fierce center of the war for national independence. You will be moved by the 81 days and nights of fierce fighting at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, explore the “steel fortress” of Vinh Moc tunnels, and stand beside Hien Luong Bridge – Ben Hai River, a symbol of the aspiration for national reunification. This is not just a sightseeing trip, but also a journey to honor immortal historical values.
DETAILED PROGRAM (Lunch in Quang Tri)
07:00: The vehicle and tour guide will pick up guests at their hotel in central Hue, and depart for Dong Ha – Quang Tri.
Visit Quang Tri Ancient Citadel – a special national historical site, where the fierce 81-day and 81-night battle of the 1972 summer took place.
Explore Vinh Moc Tunnels – a symbol of the Vinh Linh tunnel village system, known as the “steel fortress” underground.
Visit Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River – the demarcation line that divided North and South Vietnam for over 20 years of war.
12:00 PM: Guests rest and enjoy a delicious local lunch at the restaurant.
13:00: Travel along Highway 9, visit Khe Sanh Airport and the bases along the McNamara electronic fence.
Admire Dakrong Bridge, the Ho Chi Minh Trail and meet the Paco and Van Kieu ethnic minority communities.
16:30 – 18:00: The group departs back to Hue. Drop off guests at the original pick-up point, say goodbye, and the tour ends.
